History of Valentine's Day

 

Day is celebrated as a symbol of love is originated from the Festival of Lupercalia which took place at the time of the Roman Empire, around the 3rd century. Festival which takes place every February 13 to 18 is preceded by an offering to the goddess Juno Februata love.

While in Indonesia, such a culture also began to demand, especially among young people.Many shopping centers and cafes that decorate their place with the color pink. Chocolate and Valentine's cards bearing the words of love are also increasingly popular, especially in big cities.

Also spelled Gosainkunda and Gosain Kunda is an alpine freshwater oligotrophic lake in Nepal’s Langtang National Park, located at an altitude of 4,380 m (14,370 ft) above sea level in the Rasuwa District with a surface of 13.8 ha (34 acres).

Together with associated lakes, the Gosaikunda Lake complex is 1,030 ha (4.0 sq mi) in size and has been designated a Ramsar site in September 2007. The lake melts and sips down to form the Trishuli river and remains frozen for six months in winter October to June. There are 108 lakes in this area, small to medium in size. The challenging Lauribina La pass at an altitude of 4,610 m (15,120 ft) is on its outskirts.

After a long trek from Kyanjing Gompa to Bamboo, Gosaikunda was the final destination. A hard but shortcut trail from Bamboo to MukKharka to Cholan pati to Lauribanayak in one day was a tough hike ever in my life. The above picture was shot on Friday Morning from the North-East side of Gosaikunda.

Zeus 

 

In mythology, Zeus was the god that reigned in Olympus Leader. He is married to his sister, Hera is the Goddess of marriage. Zeus divided the world into three worlds and divide it by two brothers, Poseidon is the god Lord of the Ocean, and Hades is the god Lord of the Natural Death.

Hera 

 

Known as the wife and sister of Zeus. Hera was the goddess of marriage. He is described as the goddess of greatness and full of wisdom. Often enthroned and crowned with a plain (high cylindrical crown), which is only worn by some of the great goddesses. 

Ares

 

Ares is the god of war in Greek mythology. In Roman mythology he was known by the name of the god Mars. He has two bodyguards, namely Phobos and Deimos. The name became one of the planet Mars near the Earth and has 2 months, named after his bodyguard, Phobos and Deimos. The name is a dedication to him in March.

Hephaestus 

 

Known as the Vulcan in Roman mythology. He was the first son of the god Zeus with the goddess Hera. He is the god of fire, carpenter, smith iron weapons and craftsmen.Hefestus worshiped in all the industrial and manufacturing center in Greece especially in Athens. Although his shop is located on the island of Lemnos, Hefestus associated with Mount Etna by a Sicilian.

Dionysus 

 

The only gods who have human parents is Dionysus. Gift of magic, the grapes distilled water is the carrier of excitement as well as the causes of insanity. His creation of intoxicating it can make a splashy drinker and also sparked the carnage of drunk. In ancient times, devotees gathered in the forest and dancing in his honor and drink until drunk. Trojan warrior wants to be rid of anxiety with herbs mujarabnya. Really, that's the reality of all time to date.

Known as the ruling god of the sea. Poseidon has a triden weapons which could cause floods and earthquakes. Poseidon also has a vehicle drawn by Hippopocamus (half horse half fish creature). Poseidon married Amphitrite, and has a son named Triton. Poseidon is also the god who created the horse in an attempt to woo Demeter.

Athena

Artemis 

 

Artemis, goddess of hunting. As wild by nature itself. Is sacred to the goddess and protector of the young hunter who calmly set up the places of the earth's wild. Twin sister of Apollo was skilled in archery than all the gods on Mount Olympia. He always carried a silver bow and his arrows. He sided with Troy during the war. He cuts a fierce north wind that impede them to sail to Troy. Now the relics of Artemis seen in women who opposed the traditions and live a more individualized and free. Vaguely told, that he was still living in the forest.

Apollo 

 

He was the god of light, music, archer, treatment, sun and poet in Greek mythology and Roman mythology. He is the son of Zeus and Leto and twin brother of Artemis. Orakelnya in Delphi is very famous. Many people from all over Greece who visited orakelnya to find out about their future. He has a bow made of gold. Laurel tree, crows and dolphins animals.

Aphrodite 

 

Goddess of Love and Beauty in Greek mythology. In Roman legend known as Venus.There are two different legends about the birth of Aphrodite. The first legend says Aphrodite is the daughter of Zeus and Dione. But this legend is less popular. The second legend says that Aphrodite was born of the Titan Uranus' genitals are castrated by Cronus.
